

Ingredients
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 2 tbsp ONE ORGANIC matcha
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Black Sesame Frosting
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 1/4 cup of powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp of black sesame powder
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- a pinch of salt
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350º
- Sift together the dry ingredients (flour, matcha, baking powder, salt) and set aside.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs on high for about 30 seconds until frothy. Gradually add the sugar and continue beating the eggs for 5 minutes.
- In another separate bowl, warm the milk in the microwave slightly to melt the butter (careful not to boil). Add the vanilla and oil. and mix. Set aside to cool.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients, in 3 separate portions, into the egg mixture, while mixing slowly to incorporate.
- Slowly add the milk mixture into the batter while continuing to mix.
- Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners and fill each cup 3/4 full with batter.
- Bake for 16-18 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the tin briefly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
For the Frosting:
- In a medium bowl, cream butter until smooth and pale in color.
- Add the vanilla extract and salt. Mix until just combined.
- Incorporate the powdered sugar in 1/3 increments.
- Add the black sesame powder and mix to combine.
- Transfer the frosting into a piping bag with a tip and begin decorating!
