Heart Kimbap

  Prep Time: 30 mins | Cook Time: 1 Hour        12 Half Sheets Make 24 Pieces


Ingredients

  • 12 Half Sheets of One Organic Nori Seaweed
  • 1 can of Spam
  • 1/4 cup of teriyaki sauce
  • 3 cups of uncooked medium or short grain rice

Directions

  1. Prepare rice and cool to room temperature.
  2. Slice the Spam into 6 slices. Brown the Spam in a frying pan and coat with teriyaki sauce. Set aside to cool.
  3. Cut Spam diagonally at a 45 degree angle lengthwise.
  4. Carefully place one half of the Spam strip and lay it on the other half to create a heart shape.
  5. Wrap a 5-inch piece of nori around the Spam strips.
  6. Gently fill in the gap at the top of the heart with rice to maintain the heart shape.
  7. Spread rice on nori sheet evenly, leaving a 1 inch margin at one end.
  8. Place the wrapped Spam roll on the nori with rice and begin rolling it with a bamboo mat or your fingers.
  9. Once it’s rolled, slice into 4 even pieces and it’s ready to serve!
